Join Samuel F. Sears, PhD, ABPP, and Philip Adamson, MD, as they discuss heart failure and its significant impact on patients’ quality of life. Dr. Sears shares his insights on his recent publication in JACC: Heart Failure, “Long-Term Quality of Life Response Observed in the Baroreflex Activation Therapy for Heart Failure,” which analyzed the durable and sustained improvements out to 2 years in the individual components of two quality of life measures – the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure (MLWHF) questionnaire and the EuroQol 5 Dimension survey (EQ-5D) – from the BeAT-HF trial. Dr. Sears is a Professor of Psychology and Cardiovascular Science as well as the Division Chief of Innovation and Research at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
